How to start a career Our product managers combine technical with application expertise, advise our customers, and are internationally networked. At 26, David Domínguez Belinchón is already a Product Manager for our Complex Formed Parts (CFP). How is that possible? Eighteen months of our International Graduate Trainee Program with time spent in four different countries and departments. "I have grown professionally in an exponential rate during the last two years," says David. The program aims to strengthen graduates’ global knowledge of the overall organization as well as to create a global network. David spent four months in his home country, Spain, at SCM & OPEX, four months at the Innovation Hub in Germany, four months in the USA at Tooling and Technology, and finally, four months in Slovakia. He is now creating added value for customers with CFP products. In line with our diversification strategy, we are building up further production capacities to supply additional applications in various sectors. Our CFP parts are not only cold-formed but also precision-machined. Thanks to the trainee program, David knows the material flow and the global production processes. As a manager, he can drive the strategic position of his products. "KAMAX has allowed me to take off my career like an airplane. But I'm far from finished. I always want to keep learning. I don't want to stagnate!"#career #people #traineeprogram #coldforming #precisionmachining

“Be proactive - say yes to everything”Show up, go that extra mile and be yourself. This is Ndilimeke Hambuda’s mantra.“If you don’t show them who you are and what you can bring to the table, they won’t know.”Holder of an honour’s degree in Business Management, and a bachelor’s in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Hambuda says the Pupkewitz Megabuild Graduate Programme gave not only her career but her skills impetus. The programme “enabled me to rotate through several different departments and functions and each rotation brought a whole new setof skills tomy portfolio. The beauty of it all is that you have an opportunity to determine if your interest align with each area you experience without any permanence, and this is what makes the programme excellent. A permanent employee at Pupkewitz Megabuild, Hambuda says the programme is like any other – you get out of it what you make of it.“If you are not ready to learn, or to take on new responsibilities or challenge your boundaries, you will not tap this programme for everything it’s worth.Hambuda urges graduates to apply for the programme, saying that being authentic and yourself is the best way to succeed. But she warns with a giggle, you cannot be your authentic self as you are in your mom’s home. “You need to control your emotions and stay professional at all costs, no matter what. It’s basic discipline, like eating right, getting enough exercise and getting to work on time.”To graduates she says the Pupkewitz Megabuild Graduate Programme is one of the best ways to get your career started the right way. “The training offered in the programme can often far exceed what you could receive if you just join the organization in an entry-level position. It can be a great career move for those looking to gain valuable experience in the retail industryand supply chain management with the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals, hone your skills and acquire advanced knowledge in various business areas.”#graduate #intern #SuccessStories

Have you ever heard: “Working abroad was a waste of time”? I have only heard the opposite! At Mercedes-Benz, we offer our vocational trainees the opportunity to gain international experience through our Training goes Global programme in cooperation with Erasmus+. In 2023, we were proud to have 25 vocational trainees take part in the three-week programme. Each group visited a different country and experienced different working cultures and practices, from a vocational school in Finland to Mercedes-Benz production sites in Romania at , Italy at Mercedes-Benz Italia and Slovenia. Once on site, the participants gained insight into training-specific projects - from office work to testing an excavator simulator. It is always nice to see, when trainees seize opportunities, gain new experiences, think outside the box and broaden their horizons by working abroad. At Mercedes-Benz, we're committed to fostering this spirit and providing our trainees with many opportunities for personal and professional development. In today's VUCA world, the value of such development cannot be overstated. What about you: What are your experiences of working in a different cultural setting?

Mission accomplished! After 5.5 years of studying at the Fakulta strojní ČVUT v Praze, I successfully defended my master's thesis in the Industrial Systems Management program, passed the final state exam, and earned the MSc. title.I will not recount the entire path to this achievement in this post - I just want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude once more to all who supported me and shared their experiences and knowledge with me... for the time you dedicated to me, I will be forever grateful. If I had to emphasize one particular aspect of my academic journey, it would be the opportunity to undertake not just one, but two international study programs at highly renowned and honoured universities: The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University in Sweden and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Both experiences abroad gave me so much knowledge regarding understanding different cultures, new problem-solving approaches, and the importance of international collaboration. In particular, the startup trip to Chicago with YES!Delft Students still present a life-changing experience from which I still draw lessons.I am pleased that I can now apply these experiences in such a prestigious company as , where, following the completion of my traineeship, I transitioned to a managerial position in August 2023. The company's motto is "ownership from day 1," and although sometimes these phrases seem like marketing hooks in job offers, which don't always hold true in reality, here it is 100% correct. This responsibility and the opportunity to immediately contribute to strategic decisions and help the entire team to achieve common goals is something that really excites me and motivates me to learn as much as possible and keep pushing, just as I did during my studies. One academic stage ends, but the bigger one is about to begin. And although there will certainly be many more significant and complex challenges ahead, I am excited to see what the future holds![CZ verze v komentáři] ⬇️

🎓 Proudly Completed First Year Courses in International Business 🌍I am thrilled to share that I have successfully earned my Propaedeutic Certificate in International Business, marking the completion of all my first-year courses and the acquisition of all the necessary credits for this part of my studying journey. 📚✅🚀 This journey has been an incredible learning experience, where I delved into modules encompassing operations and management, marketing, supply chain management, and finance and accounting. In each of these modules, I had the opportunity to collaborate with talented peers and engage in real-world case studies, further honing my skills. 💼🌐🌟 One highlight of my academic journey was the team projects I undertook in each module, where we tackled complex challenges faced by real-world companies. These hands-on experiences not only enriched my understanding but also taught me the importance of teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability in today's competitive business landscape. 🤝🔍📊 Armed with this knowledge and a commitment to excellence, I eagerly look forward to the next three years of my studies in International Business. The challenges awaiting are not only opportunities for personal and professional growth but also chances to make a meaningful impact in the ever-evolving global business arena. As I continue to immerse myself in advanced coursework and explore internships and global opportunities, I am excited to further develop my expertise and contribute to the international business community. 🌱💼#InternationalBusiness #Education #PropaedeuticCertificate #FutureGoals #ChallengesAhead #GlobalOpportunities

URGENT HELP NO LONGER NEEDED - THANK YOUA contact of mine, Peter Corbishley of Principia School of Language, runs a programme for apprentices with BASF in Germany to visit Worcester for a month. This involves an internship with a local business for a month or split between two businesses.2 of the 3 apprentices arriving shortly already have placements (with Southco) but he needs a placement for the 3rd apprentice. Accommodation and the cultural/social sides of the visit are already organised. The apprentices arrive on 2nd March. The apprentice is called Jan Ströbel (aged 20) and his introductory letter is below. Please message me if you can help (or know someone that can) and I'll put you in touch with Peter. It would be a great shame if the Worcestershire business community cannot find something useful for this young guy to do during his visit from Germany. I believe that an immersive experience in an English-speaking environment will provide me with the ideal setting to improve my language proficiency. Moreover, Worcester is the perfect place with its rich history and vibrant culture for personal development. I am excited of exploring the city with its residents to gain a deeper understanding for the local culture. This experience will expand my horizon and provide valuable insights which I will take with me when I return to Germany. Thanks to my work experience at BASF SE Ludwigshafen and the different departments I worked in, I gained skills in commercial activities. I learned project management by preparing and holding online conferences with international partners from BASF. I gained skills in marketing by working at trade fairs in a HR department and thereby convinced people to apply to BASF. In Supply Chain Management I conducted routine tasks like transport booking and working directly with international partners every day.In my free time, I like to go to the gym, meet up with my friends and like to travel. Besides that I have a passion for cars because of their history, technology and the joy of driving.I went to many car museums like Porsche in Stuttgart, Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart and BMW in Munich to learn more about different car models, the technology and the brand itself or researched the information by myself (via videos, internet etc.).Please contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.Sincerely, Jan Ströbel
