NORSEAL by day, HARBOUR SEAL (Common seal) by night - I attended a seal rescue last week and sadly she was not doing so well. Stranded on a busy beach in Tynemouth with many dogs and gawpers . Scared and cold and underweight with à temperature, I secured her and transferred her to the vets in Alnwick, Northumberland before moving her on to our seal B&B close by. She was tube fed and rehydrated and we were really worried quite about her but she rallied. I’ve had word this morning from ‘Hesselhead Sanctuary’ she’s doing really good and putting on weight. I’m going to hear more news over the coming days and possibly release her to the sea myself. Just in case you wondered, I am a fully trained Marine mammal medic with the BDMLR. If you do see any kind of marine mammal on the beach please keep a good distance back. Seals WILL bite and infect you with up to 4 pathogen/viruses. You’ll be on antibiotics for 21 days. Instead, advise people to leash their dogs and keep them away (there is law about this) and try and form a shield to keep other people away. Do not try and move the seal yourself. Total Warrior 2024 -12km mud run with 25 crazy obstacles including fire, ice and heights. Totally outside my comfort zone but great sense of achievement! It just goes to show that what is the norm, isn't always right and you can always push for more. My mindset these days, is all about challenging the norms and asking what else can I do? Fundraising started! diabetes.enthuse.comHi everybody, I am doing an 8 mile charity fundraising walk this September with my wife and two friends to raise money for Diabetes UK. A few years back, I was diagnosed with his terrible disease, partly genetic and partly lifestyle. I was also diagnosed with other life changing health complaints to do with my heart and blood pressure.😟Fortunately, my doctor was on the ball and got me started, but it wasn’t until I met my coach. Luke Harrison at TST , who got me on the right track.We’ve now reversed my diabetes and I do not have high blood pressure or a heart complaint! Movement IS medicine but it comes at the cost of four mornings a week at 6 am where I do a Boot Camp. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 💤 If you can chip in to help me raise some money, I will be eternally grateful. Thank You!
